SALISBURY, N.C. – The Shaw University women's cross country team placed fourth overall at the 2019 Livingstone Invitational Friday (Oct. 11). The Lady Bears tallied a total of 95 points for a combined time of 24:04 for the fourth place finish led by sophomore Luisa Cury (Araraquara, Brazil) who placed eighth overall with a time of 22:15.1Additionally, the Lady Bears had two other runners finish top-12 that included junior Kaydi-Ann Wint (Kingston, Jamaica) with a finishing time of 22:25.8 for ninth place overall while senior Hannah Pealstrom (Chicago, IL) placed 11th individually with a time of 22:30.7.
Fayetteville State won the event with a total of 39 points, followed by Newberry (81 points) and Savannah State (82 points) for second and third place, respectively.
Shaw will return to action at the conference championship in Salem, Va. on Oct. 24. The time of the event has yet to be determined.
