CARY, N.C. – Shaw University men's and women's cross-country completed the 2018 HBCU Challenge Saturday at the Wake Med Soccer Park. Individually, the Lady Bears had two runners finish top-25 while the Bears had one runner finish top-10.
The event was split into two categories for awards as sophomore Mike Lagat (Eldoret, Kenya) garnered a seventh place finish in the men's 8k race with a time of 26:38.2 while both freshman Luisa Cury (Araraquara, Brazil) and junior Kaydi-Ann Wint (Kingston, Jamaica) placed 19th and 23rd overall for accolades. Cury crossed the finish line with a time of 22:04.3 while Wint finished at 22:21.4.
Shaw will return to action at the Blue Bears Invitational hosted by Livingstone College on Friday, Oct. 12 in Salisbury, N.C.
