VOLLEYBALL TO HOST FAYETTEVILLE STATE IN PIVOTAL MATCH TONIGHT AT 6 PM

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University women's volleyball team will host a pivotal Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division match featuring Fayetteville State University tonight at 6 p.m. inside the historic C.C. Spaulding Gymnasium.

The Lady Bears (14-8, 14-1 CIAA) and Fayetteville State (13-6, 13-1 CIAA) are right behind one another in the South with Shaw standing 9-1 for first place within the division and FSU at 8-1 in second.

 

Tonight's match will be the second meeting between the two teams this season as Shaw took a t 3-1 road win over the Lady Broncos back  on Oct. 14.

 

Should Shaw win tonight, the Lady Bears will repeat as the Southern Division champions for the fourth-consecutive season and earn the No. 1 seed from the South in the upcoming 2019 CIAA Women's Volleyball Tournament.

 

The Lady Bears are coming off a 3-0 victory at Saint Augustine's on Nov. 7, extending its win-streak to eight-straight (longest streak this season) while the Lady Broncos has won its last five matches coming into Monday's tilt, defeating Virginia Union, 3-0 also on Nov. 7.
