CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Sophomore setter Jada Flowers of the Shaw University women's volleyball team was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Setter of the Week announced Tuesday afternoon.
The recognition is Flowers fourth this season. She earned the accolade after pouring out 41 assists, five digs, two blocks and a pair of kills in the Lady Bears road win at Johnson C. Smith last week. Flowers leads the CIAA in assists with 593 on the season and an 8.47 assist per set average.
Shaw will return to action tonight when the Lady Bears host Winston-Salem State in pivotal division match inside the historic C.C. Spaulding Gymnasium. First serve is slated for 6 p.m.
