RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University women's volleyball team will host a Dig Pink match when it entertains Livingstone College on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. inside the historic C.C. Spaulding Gymnasium. All fans and spectators are encouraged to wear pink to raise awareness for breast cancer research.
The match will offer live coverage on the Shaw Bears Sports Network with Daimeon S. Banks calling the action. Fans can also follow live tweets on Twitter @ShawBears.
Shaw will look to keep its winning momentum going, entering Wednesday's tilt with a 10-8 overall record and 10-1 mark in league action. SU is coming a perfect weekend at the CIAA round-up where the Lady Bears went 2-0, earning 3-0 victories against Elizabeth City State and Bowie State.
In the Southern Division rankings, the Lady Bears are currently in first place with a 5-1 record.
Livingstone heads to Raleigh with a 9-5 overall and 6-4 in CIAA action. The Lady Blue Bears are 4-2 in the South, with losses against Shaw and Fayetteville State according to its schedule online. LC defeated Winston-Salem State in its last outing (Oct. 16) by the score of 3-1.
This will be the second meeting between the two teams this season, Shaw earned a 3-0 sweep of Livingstone back on Sept. 26.
