RALEIGH, N.C. – Coming off a 3-0 sweep of Livingstone College Monday, Oct. 16, the Shaw University women's volleyball team looks to keep its winning momentum going at the Barton College Tri-Match on Saturday, Oct. 21 for their last nonconference matches of the 2017 slate. During the tri-match, the Lady Bears will face Mount Olive at 2 p.m., following a match with the Bulldogs in the nightcap at 4 p.m.

On the season, junior Saraya Klink (Fuquay-Varina, NC) leads the Lady Bears (20-3) offense with 207 kills on 418 total attacks over 23 matches and 80 sets played. The middle hitter has also collected 75 blocks, 71 digs and 34 service aces for 295.5 points.
Trailing Klink in offense and one of the top leaders defensively, junior Kelly Murphy (Mukwonago, WI) has tallied 184 kills, 243 digs and 50 service aces in 23 matches for 81 sets. Senior Tiffany Brooks (Efland, NC) currently paces the Lady Bears overall with 310 stops and an average of 3.88 digs a set.
The setting duties have been split this season with junior Michelle Olmeda-Gonzalez (San Juan, PR) and sophomore Alexandra Masnica (Chicago, IL) who both have combined for 700 of the Lady Bears 943 total assists.
UMO heads to Wilson, N.C. with an overall record of 8-13. The Trojans are 3-5 at neutral sites as UMO is coming off a 3-0 loss to Chowan on Tuesday, Oct. 17. The Trojans are currently on a four-game losing skid.
As for the Bulldogs, BC currently has an 11-game win-streak going, including a 3-1 victory over Belmont Abbey on Oct. 14 at home. This season, the Bulldogs own a 9-0 record at home.
Shaw will conclude conference action Monday, Oct. 23 at Johnson C. Smith at 6 p.m.
