RALEIGH N.C. – Shaw University women's outdoor track and field announced its 2020 slate on Tuesday. The outdoor season will consist of eight meets.
The Lady Bears will begin its season at the Braves Classic in Pembroke, NC hosted UNC Pembroke on Mar. 6. Shaw will compete at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational from March 19-21 in Myrtle Beach, SC, followed by a trip to Richmond, Va., on Mar. 27-28 at the Fred Hardy Invitational.
The next three meets, Shaw will remain in North Carolina with the VertKalsse Meeting (Apr. 3-4) in High Point, followed by the Aggie Invitational (Apr. 10-11) in Greensboro and the JCSU Invite on Apr. 17 and 18 in Charlotte.
The final regular season meet for Shaw will be the prestigious Penn Relays on Apr. 23-25 in Philadelphia, Pa.
On May 1-3, the Lady Bears outdoor season will conclude at the 2020 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Championships will be held in Bowie, Md. Should any Shaw student-athletes qualify for nationals, the 2020 NCAA DII Championships will be held on May 21-23 in Kingsville, TX.
The Shaw women's outdoor track and field program is led by Frantz-Kwame Smith who enters his second season at the helm.
