NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Shaw University women's outdoor track and field program had five student-athletes named to the 2019 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Wednesday.
The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) in total had 55 student-athletes receive honors out of 87 accolades for the 2019 outdoor season.
The Lady Bears six student-athletes included the 4x400-relay team made up of senior La'Cherie Clarke (Raleigh, NC), sophomore Damoni Neal (Newport News, VA), junior Kaydi-Ann Wint (Kingston, Jamaica) and senior Tashay Roberts (Bloomfield, CT).
Junior Laquell Harris (Nassau, Bahamas) garnered the accolade in the discus while Wint received an individual honor for the 800-meter run.
1,831 honors were handed out to USTFCCCA member institutions, which included 926 to men's programs and an additional 905 to women's programs.
