WOMEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD HEADS TO USC OPEN

RALEIGH, N.C. – Shaw University women's outdoor track and field will compete in the 2019 USC Open hosted by the University of South Carolina on Saturday, Apr. 20 at the Cregger Track in Columbia, S.C.

The event will take place at 9 a.m. beginning with the women's hammer throw. The track events will start at 10:30 a.m. with the women's 3,000m.

Last time out, junior Kaydi-Ann Wint (Kingston, Jamaica) highlighted the Lady Bears performance at the Aggie Invitational. She set a new program record in the 800m run with a time finishing time of 2:13.05 to take a 10th place finish overall. Additionally, Shaw finished top-10 in four events.

This will be one the of the last regular season meets before the Lady Bears make a quest in the 2019 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Championships slated for May 4-5 in Bowie, Md. Next weekend, Shaw will compete in the prestigious Penn Relays (Apr. 25-27).
