RALEIGH, N.C. – Coming off a competitive showing in its season opener last weekend, the Shaw University women's outdoor track and field team will to do the same when they travel to Charlotte, N.C. to compete in the 49er Classic Friday, Mar. 15-16 hosted by the University of Charlotte at the Irwin Belk Track and Field Center.
Live results can be found here. The meet will feature 54 schools with unattached and running clubs competing with approximately 1.750 participants.
The Lady Bears tallied 11 top-10 finishes at the Coastal Carolina Invitational led by senior Laquel Harris (Nassau, Bahamas) who placed first in the discus to provisionally qualify for nationals with a throw of 47.65m.
The 49er Classic will start Friday (Mar. 15) at 9 a.m. with the decathlon, followed by the hammer throw at 11 a.m. The running events will begin at 12 noon with the 100m hurdle.
Saturday's events will begin at 10 a.m. with the shot put, following the running events at 12 noon with the 4x100m relay.
