LADY BEARS SET TO FACE TUSCULUM ON THE ROAD WEDNESDAY

RALEIGH, N.C. –  The Shaw University women's soccer team will go for their fourth straight win as they travel to Greenville, Tenn.,to face Tusculum College Wednesday, Oct. 9.Kickoff from Pioneer Stadium is slated for 5 p.m.

Shaw enters Wednesday's match after an exciting 4-1victory at Mars Hill Saturday, Oct.5,bringing its overall record to 4-5 on the season.  

 

The Lady Bears scored all four goals in the first 29 minutes of action versus the Lions which tied the most goals so far this season. Freshman Fenja Soeth (Bokel, Germany) tallied her fourth goal on the season during the first half rally by Shaw. Mars Hill scored just before the half making the score 4-1 but both teams battled to a scoreless second half sending Shaw to its third straight victory.  

 

Tusculum collected a 1-0 victory over Anderson (SC) Sunday, Oct.6,scoring a late second half goal to secure the win during their home opener.The Pioneer'senter Wednesday'scontest with an overall record of 4-6. Tusculum opened the season with nine straight road matches before Sunday's victory over Anderson (SC). 

 

Shaw will be looking for revenge a year to the date of the last matchup between the Lady Bears and Tusculum as Shaw found itself on the wrong end of a 2-0 decision in Greenville, Tenn.
