RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University women's soccer team will begin a four-match road swing Thursday, Oct. 3 when the Lady Bears pay a visit to Converse College. Kickoff from Hayden Abney Fulp Field in Spartanburg, S.C. is set for 6 p.m.

Live coverage will be available at www.shawbears.com.

Shaw returns to the pitch after collecting a 3-1 victory over King (Tenn.) Tuesday afternoon at the MAC. The win pushed the Lady Bears record to 2-5 overall.  It was a brief return home as it was their first home match in three matches for Shaw.

At the completion of this road swing, the Lady Bears will have had played seven of their last eight contests on the road.

Sophomore Jasa Curry (Ellicott City, MD) found the back of the net twice to push the Bears to a season high total in goals with three. Freshman Fenja Soeth (Bokel Germany) added the other Shaw goal to bring her overall total to three goals on the season.

Converse enters Thursday's contest 0-6 overall, dropping their most recent match 4-0 to Emmanuel last Saturday.

The Valkyries and Lady Bears share three common opponents so far in the season in King (Tenn.), Mount Olive and nationally ranked Lincoln Memorial. Converse competes in Conference Carolinas.

Shaw leads the all-time series 1-0 with the Lady Bears defeating the Valkyries 3-1 on Sept. 4, 2018.
