RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University women's soccer team will look to return to the win column Saturday afternoon as they travel to Hartsville, S.C. to face Coker. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
The Lady Bears are coming off another late goal defeat from the hands of Mount Olive Wednesday (Sept. 18) as the Trojans tallied the game winner in the 85th minute. The loss dropped Shaw's record to 1-2 on the season with their lone win coming on the road against Meredith on Sept. 15.
Coker enters the match not only looking for their first win of the season but also their first goal. The Cobras stand at 0-4 with their most recent setback being a 2-0 loss to Wingate.
The Shaw – Coker all-time series stands at 1-1 with both teams picking up victories at home in recent years. Coker defeated the Lady Bears on Sept. 9, 2017 by the score of 2-0. Shaw returned the favor picking up a 3-2 OT victory over the Cobras at the MAC on Sept. 25, 2018.
