RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University women's soccer team will look to maintain its winning momentum after securing their first victory of the season with a home match against the Trojans from Mount Olive Wednesday, Sept. 18 at the MAC Sports & Entertainment (8924 Midway West Road, Raleigh, NC 27617). Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m.

This will be the second all-time matchup between the two programs with the first coming during the inaugural 2017 season as UMO came away with a 3-0 shutout victory over Shaw on Oct. 2 in Mount Olive, N.C.

Shaw enters the contest coming off a thrilling 2-1 victory over fellow Raleigh foe Meredith Sunday, Sept. 15. Freshman Fenja Soeth (Bokel, Germany) scored both goals including the game winner in the 73 minute. The Lady Bears dropped a 1-0 double OT heartbreaker to UNCP earlier in the week.

The Trojans head to Raleigh with a 1-0 record overall after picking up a 4-1 road win over Converse on Saturday, Sept.14. UMO carried a 1-0 lead into halftime before blitzing the nets for three more goals in the second half to take a 4-0 lead. Converse scored one goal late to provide the 4-1 final.
