RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University women's soccer team are still looking to complete its season opener as bad weather struck again. This time at the 53-minute mark a lighting delay put a halt to the Lady Bears match against Chowan with the score tied at 1-1.
Returning leader in goals sophomore Jasa Curry (Ellicott City, MD) picked up where she left off in the 2018 season scoring first and giving the Lady Bears the 1-0 lead at the 25-minute mark. Chowan would tie the game late in the half at the 41st minute.
As both teams returned to the pitch for the second half, bad weather forced its way into Murfreesboro and stopped the match at the before the needed time for the contest to be counted. Both teams will attempt to reschedule at a later date.
