CURRY SELECTED SECOND TEAM ALL-ATLANTIC REGION

RALEIGH, N.C. – Freshman standout Jasa Curry (Ellicott City, MD) of the Shaw University women's soccer team was selected to the 2018 DC22A NCAA DII Women's Soccer Second Team All-Atlantic Region announced Wednesday afternoon.

 

Curry led the Lady Bears to a 12-4 overall finish in just the programs second season as a NCAA DII independent member. She posted a program record of 23 goals and a 1.44 goal per game average – ranking second in DII.

 

Additionally, Curry finished with 51 points total, five winning goals and five assists on .307 percent shooting and a .573 percentage in shots on goals.

 

The award is the first time any Shaw player has ever received All-Region recognition. The Lady Bears were led by head coach Matt Brown in his first season.

 

The Division II Women's Soccer All-Atlantic First and Second Teams are both comprised of 13 players from across the region. The Atlantic Region Player of the Year is Lock Haven's Marah Foltz.
