WOMEN’S SOCCER TO HOST NEWBERRY IN SEASON FINALE AND SENIOR DAY

RALEIGH, N.C.   Shaw University women's soccer will host Newberry College on Sunday, Oct. 2 at the MAC Sports and Entertainment Complex for Senior Day. The game is set to begin at 1 p.m. with the Lady Bears honoring two seniors in Hannah Pealstrom (Aurora, IL) and MKenzie Safford (West Jordan, UT) prior to kickoff.

The Lady Bears enter Sunday's game with an 11-4 overall record after defeating Piedmont International, 3-0 led by freshman standout Jasa Curry (Ellicott City, MD) who scored all three goals to post 21 goals on the season – she is currently the program's all-time leader in goals.

The Newbery Wolves travel to the MAC with a 7-8-1 record after suffering a 1-0 defeat by Lincoln Memorial last weekend. The Wolves are 2-4-1 on the road this year. Daphne Heyaime is the team's leader offensively with 10 goals (.159 shot percentage).

 Sunday's clash will be the first ever meeting between the two teams in program history. Shaw is 3-0 at home this season.
