RALEIGH, N.C. – Freshman Jasa Curry (Ellicott City, MD) scored three goals in the Shaw University women's soccer 3-0 victory over Piedmont International Wednesday afternoon at the MAC Sports and Entertainment Complex. The victory improves Shaw to 11-4 on the season while the Lady Bruins fall to 4-11 for 2018.
Shaw controlled the entire game in dominating fashion led by a fiery Curry who finished the game with five shots, three on goal. The three goals she scored today puts her at 21 goals on the season, leading the NCAA DII.
The Lady Bears held a 15-12 advantage in total shots and 6-5 frame in shots on goal.
Freshman Philine Diekhoff (Hamburg, Germany) finished with a game-high two assists while registering four shots and one on goal. Defensively, the goalkeeper duties were split between freshman Alexis Rolka (Moncure, NC) and junior Caylie Hartman (Commerce City, CO) who combined for five saves.
The Lady Bears will wrap up the regular season on Sunday, Nov. 4 versus Newberry for Senior Day at the MAC. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m.
