HICKORY, N.C. – The Shaw University women's soccer team fell 8-0 to Lenoir-Rhyne University Friday night. The loss dips Shaw to 8-3 overall while LRU improves to 9-5-1 on the year.
The Lady Bears registered just five shots and two on goal for the contest while the Bears posted 20 shots and 11 on goal. LRU took a 3-0 lead after the first half led by Abbie Brown who scored two of the three goals.
Shaw was then outscored 5-0 in the second half, including an 11-3 disadvantage in shots.
The Lady Bears will return to action Saturday, Oct. 20 at Columbia (S.C.) for a regular season contest scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
