WOMEN’S SOCCER SHUTS OUT LINCOLN (PA) 1-0 ON THE ROAD

LINCOLN, Pa.  – Shaw women's soccer (8-2) picked up its sixth road win of the 2018 season with a 1-0 victory over Lincoln (Pa.) University (0-12) Sunday afternoon at the Lincoln Stadium. The win marks the fourth shutout victory for the Lady Bears this season.

 

Senior Teffi-Anne Brown (Kingstown, St. Vincent) scored the lone goal of the match in the 13th minute of the first half on a breakaway that was deflected off the goalkeeper.

 

The Lady Bears had 21 shots in the match, with 15 on goal while the Lady Lions registered 16 shots and nine on goal.

 

Sophomore Shianne Duplantis (West Palm Beach, FL) started in goal for the Lady Bears and saved nine shots as she picked up her fourth shutout and win of the season.

 

Shaw returns to action Friday, Oct. 19 at Lenoir-Rhyne. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
