RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University women's soccer team will continue its road skid with a mid-week contest at Lincoln (Pa.) University on Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 3 p.m. at the Lions Stadium.
The Lady Bears are coming off a 6-0 loss to Life on Sunday, Sept. 17 in Marietta, Ga. Shaw currently stands 1-4 on the season with its only win against Oakwood (10-0) on Sept. 15.
As a team, the Lady Bears have nailed 10 goals on the year led by junior Hannah Pealstrom (Aurora, IL) with three on the season and both freshman Katherine Inhoof (Virginia Gardens, FL) and freshman Alana Navarette (Sun City, CA) with two goals apiece. Pealstrom also has a team-high two assists.
LU enters Wednesday's matchup with a 3-4 overall record and a 3-1 mark at home. The Lions are coming off a 6-0 win over Trinity on Sept. 16. Cleo Spear and Diana Martinez scored two goals apiece in the win. The Lions have a 16-of-89 goals-shots attempts while their opponents have registered 22-of-83.
Wednesday's game will be the first meeting between the two teams in program history. Following the match with Lincoln (Pa.), Shaw will take on Carlow on Thursday, Sept. 21 at 1 p.m.
