FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The Shaw University women's soccer team fell 3-0 in its official season opener at Emmanuel College Friday evening. The Lady Bears totaled three shots over the course of the game with Leslie Medoza (Miami Beach, FL) taking Shaw's only shot on goal.

The setback drops the Lady Bears to 0-1 on a young season while the Lady Lions improve to 1-0.

The Lady Bears mustarded one shot on goal in the second half, by Medoza at the 60:33 mark but Emmanuel accounted for 15 shot on goals.

Defensively, Shaw continued to look to Shianna Duplantis (Charlotte, NC) at the goal keeper position. Duplantis played all 90 minutes and posted a match high 15 saves against the Lady Lions.

Lindsay Lee scored a game-high two goals as the Lady Lions tallied 20 shots to the Lady Bears three.

Shaw will return to action on Sept. 6 at Barton College in Wilson, NC with a start time scheduled for 7 p.m.
