CHESTER, Va. – The Shaw University women's bowling team completed the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Event II this past weekend with the Lady Bears placing third overall with a 5-7 record and 7,818 total pins.
Fayetteville State went 12-0 with 9,977 pins for first place while Johnson C. Smith placed second with a 6-6 record and 8,050 total pinfalls against division opponents.
Junior Necarri Moore (Portsmouth, VA) led the way for Shaw with a bowling average of 168.25, including a 213 during game eight of the weekend. The Lady Bears earned wins during the first two days, highlighted by 629-622 and 672-627 victories over Livingstone in addition to a 688-581 frame over Johnson C. Smith.
During the Baker's match, Shaw claimed one victory that featured a 680-640 decision against LC.
Shaw will return to action on Friday, Feb. 7 through Sunday, Feb. 9 at the CIAA Round-Up hosted by Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC.
