CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Shaw University junior Necarri Moore (Portsmouth, VA) of the women's bowling team led the Lady Bears to a second place finish at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Event I in Charlotte last weekend.
The Lady Bears competed against Southern Division schools at the event, going 4-7 overall.
Moore averaged 147.38 through the lanes, including a 173 against Fayetteville State. The Lady Bears tallied a total of 5,010 pins and 2,700 in Bakers.
Day one, Shaw earned its only win of the day against Livingstone (654-642) while on Day two, the Lady Bears collected two wins including a 581-568 decision against LC and Johnson C. Smith (663-561). During the Bakers matches, Shaw added one win against the Lady Blue Bears (716-627).
Shaw will return to action in 2020 at the CIAA Event II hosted by Virginia State University in Petersburg, Va. on Jan. 24-26.
