RALEIGH, N.C. – With the 2019 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Bowling Championship approaching in just 15 days, the Shaw University women's bowling team will be back in action this weekend for its regular season finale for the CIAA Event III in Fayetteville, NC at the at the B&B Bowling Lanes. Admission is free and open to the public.
B&B Bowling Lanes is located at 3003 Fort Bragg Road in Fayetteville.
Friday's (Mar. 8) event is scheduled to begin at 11:45 a.m., with all ten participating institutions battling within their respective divisions. Prior to the start of the second day on Saturday at 9:00 am, each institution will honor its seniors during a special awards ceremony. It is estimated that 23 CIAA bowlers will be recognized and given a token of appreciation from their school. Saturday's competition will begin at 10 a.m., followed by Sunday's start at 8:15 a.m. with an individual awards ceremony. Baker Games will start at 9 a.m.
Shaw will recognize three seniors in four-year letterman Kiana Rogers (Fort Atkinson, WI), two-year letterman Aliani Adelis (Laveen, AZ) and three-year letterman Naija Parker (Apex, NC). The Lady Bears are coming off a ffith place finish at the CIAA Round-Up. SU is 18-26 overall and 14-22 in the Southern Division.
Following the CIAA South Event III, Shaw will head to Lynn Haven, Va. for the 2019 CIAA Women's Bowling Championships on Mar. 22-24.
