Ebony Moore enters her first year as an Assistant Coach for Women's Basketball at Shaw University under head coach Jacques Curtis.
Moore reunites with the Lady Bears women's basketball program for the second time in her career as she previously spent two seasons as an assistant from 2007 to 2009.
A native of Garner, N.C., Moore put together a decorated resume as a member of the University of Richmond women's basketball team from 1999-2003. Her name is inked throughout the Spiders' record books as she is the program's 13th-leading scorer (1,215 points), sixth-leading rebounder (824 rebounds) and fifth-leading shot blocker (114 blocks). In addition, Moore joined an elite group of Richmond women's basketball players to score 1,000 points and snare 500 rebounds. She received her degree in Interpersonal Communication and Speech Rhetoric.
After college Moore played professional basketball for two years in Israel and Greece before beginning her coaching career as an assistant at Shaw. While at Shaw, she helped lead the Bears to a 2008 CIAA Tournament Championship and NCAA Tournament berth. Following her stint at Shaw, Moore coached at the University of Richmond for 8 seasons appearing in 4 WNIT postseason tournaments and assisting in multiple 20+ win seasons before taking a position at the University of Hartford.
