WOMEN’S BASKETBALL SET TO TRAVEL TO WINSTON-SALEM STATE ON MONDAY

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University women's basketball will travel to Winston-Salem State University on Monday, Feb. 10 for a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division bout. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. inside the C.E. Gaines Center.

The Lady Bears are 6-16 overall, 2-11 in the CIAA and 2-6 in the Southern division after falling to Johnson C. Smith, 69-60 on Wednesday (Feb. 5).

 

Shaw has lost its last eight games entering Monday's matchup with the Rams who came to Raleigh back on Jan. 27 and took home a 72-58 win over the Lady Bears in Spaulding.

 

WSSU stands 10-14 overall, 5-8 in the CIAA and 4-4 in the Southern Division. The Rams have lost its last four games including 67-64 setback to Saint Augustine's Saturday (Feb. 8).

 

Amaya Tucker is the Rams leading scorer, averaging 12.4 points per game while Shaw is led by senior guard Dejoria "DJ" Howard (Orangeburg, SC) contributes 13.5 points, respectively.
