ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – The Shaw University women's basketball team trailed by as many as 20-points in the fourth quarter before roaring back to cut the deficit to single digits as the Lady Bears fell 54-45 to Elizabeth City State University Saturday afternoon inside the R.L. Vaughan Center.

Shaw (1-2) led 16-11 after the first quarter but went 0-10 from the field in the second as two free throws from junior forward Diamononique Kennedy (Beggs, OK) was the Lady Bears only points compared to the Lady Vikings who recorded 14 total points and a 25-18 lead at halftime.

In the third quarter, ECSU outscored Shaw 20-10 as the Lady Bears faced a 17-point deficit to begin the fourth frame.
