RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University women's basketball team will resume nonconference action Tuesday, Nov. 27 with a matchup at William Peace University at 6 p.m. inside the Hermann Athletic Center.
The Lady Bears enter Tuesday's contest 2-3 overall after suffering a heartbreaking 77-75 setback to Claflin Saturday led by senior guards KlinTisha Martin (Atlanta, GA) and Tahniya Sweatt (Pasadena, CA) who both combined for 54 points, 18 rebounds, 12 assists and 11 steals.
Shaw scores about 73 points per game while shooting 43.2-percent from the field and 33.8-percent from the 3-point line. Sweatt is the team's leading scorer, averaging 22.2 points while Martin posts 16.2 points.
WPU, a member of the USA South Athletic Conference is a NCAA Division III institution. The Pacers are 1-3 on the year thus far, coming off a 63-48 loss to Transylvania on Nov. 17.
Collectively, WPU puts up 60.5 points per game while its opponents have averaged 70.5 points. Mikayla Ray and Mariah Ballen account for 15.8 and 11.0 points, respectively.
