SOFTBALL TRAVELS TO WINSTON-SALEM STATE FOR SEASON FINALE

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University softball team is set to play its season finale with a doubleheader at Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) division foe Winston-Salem State University Tuesday (Apr. 23) in Winston-Salem, N.C. Games times are set for 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. at Twin City Field.

The Lady Bears (3-19, 3-13 CIAA) have lost its last 12 games, including a 6-3 and 4-3 decision at Fayetteville State in its last outing which eliminated their chances of reaching the CIAA tournament.

 

The Rams (24-10, 12-2 CIAA) are headed into the doubleheader coming off of two road losses at Mount Olive, 8-0 and 7-1. WSSU is 3-7 in its last 10 games, but all the losses have come from non-conference opponents.

 

Within the division, WSSU is behind Claflin (12-0) with a 6-2 mark for second place while Shaw is sixth (2-8).
