RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University men and women's cross country team will travel to compete in the Bulldog Cross Country Invitational on Friday, September 11 in Wilson, N.C. hosted by Barton College.
The women's 5k race is schedule to begin at 6 p.m., while the men's 8k race will start at 6:30 p.m.
The Lady Bears enter the meet on a high-note after winning their season opener at the VSU Fall Opener on September 4.
Leading the pack was junior Muriel Evans (Sumter, SC) who crossed the finish line with a time of 23:09 for a second place finish overall. The Lady Bears had had four players finish in the top 10.
On the men's side, the Bears are coming off a second place finish in their season opener to the defending champions of Virginia Union last Friday. Shaw tallied a total of 43 points with freshman DayQuan Chapman (Winterville, NC) coming in with a time of 18:36 for a fifth place finish.
