RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University men's tennis team will head to Salisbury, N.C. to face Catawba College Monday, Feb. 17 at 1 p.m. from the Johnson Tennis Center.
This will be the first meeting between Shaw and Catawba for 2020. Shaw fell 5-2 to the Indians last season in Raleigh on Feb. 18, 2019.
The Bears earned its first win of the season, defeating Pfeiffer, 7-0 on Saturday (Feb. 15). Shaw earned sweeps in doubles and singles. Sophomore Romain Hennebelle (Montijny-Lengrain, France) and junior Ilya Skobelev (Lelyshenko, Rostov-on-Don) are both 2-1 overall to lead Shaw individually while the doubles leaders are Skobelev and senior Destiny Udofe (Brampton, ON) at the No. 3 slot.
Catawba is 0-2 entering Monday's tilt. The Indians suffered a 5-2 setback to Limestone on Feb. 7.
Following Monday's match, the Bears will take some time off before hosting Fairmont State on Mar. 11. The match is slated to start at 3 p.m. from Worthdale Park.
