BEARS SEE WIN STREAK SNAPPED AT BLUEFIELD STATE

BLUEFIELD, WV – Shaw University's two-match winning streak was snapped by Bluefield State College on Tuesday afternoon, as the Bears suffered a 5-0 defeat on the road.

 

The Bears (2-6) trailed 3-0 after doubles competition. At the No. 1 doubles, freshman Oscar Del Granado (Santa Cruz, Bolivia) and junior Ngonidzashe Makambwa (Mabelreign Harare, Zimbabwe) fell 8-4 while junior Daniel Ac (Kikinda, Serbia) and sophomore Destiny Udofe (Brampton, ON) dropped a 8-1 decision at the No. 2 doubles.

 

Sophomore Enrico Baldon (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and junior Junior Babalola-Davies (London) fell 8-1 at the No. 3 doubles. In singles, the Bears were defeated at No. 4 and No. 5 singles as the Blues (7-3) came away with the win over Shaw.
