MEN’S TENNIS LOSE TO PFEIFFER, 6-3

RALEIGH, N.C. Shaw University men's tennis lost, 6-3 at home to Pfeiffer University on Saturday at Worthdale Park.

 

The Falcons (8-2) jumped over the Bears (0-5) early, winning the first three points to go heading into singles competition. Shaw got on the scoreboard with a 6-3, 6-0 win from freshman Oscar Del Granado (Santa Cruz, Bolivia) at the No. 1 position, following a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles from Ngonidzashe Makambwa (Mabelreign Harare, Zimbabwe).

 

Juinor Daniel Ac (Kikinda, Serbia) grabbed a 6-3, 6-4 win at the No. 3 to tie the match at 3-3 but Pfeiffer would win the last three singles in straight sets.

 

The Bears will return to action on Mar. 24 at Virginia State for a match at 10 a.m.
