RALEIGH, N.C. – Shaw University men's and women's tennis will play host to the visiting Falcons of Pfeiffer University on Saturday, Mar. 17 at Worthdale Park. Both the men's and women's tennis matches will begin at 9:30 a.m.
The Lady Bears (5-1) enter Saturday's match on a five-game win-streak. Shaw defeated Livingstone, 9-0 on Tuesday. Shaw currently owns a 3-0 mark at home thus far on the season. The Lady Falcons (2-5) are coming off an 8-1 defeat by Methodist on Wednesday. Pfeiffer is 2-2 on the road this year.
Saturday will be the first meeting between both programs for 2018. The last time the Lady Bears and Lady Falcons met was on Feb. 5, 2017; Shaw won 5-0 at Knapp Tennis Center in Misenheimer, N.C.
The Bears (0-4) are still in search for the first win of the 2018 slate. Shaw hopes to snap that four-game skid against Pfeiffer after suffering a 7-0 shutout to Radford on Wednesday. The Falcons (7-2) head to Worthdale Park, coming off a 9-0 loss to N.C. Wesleyan on Mar. 10. Pfeiffer is 4-0 on the road this season.
The last time the men's programs met with one another was on Feb. 9 in Raleigh, N.C. where the Bears suffered a 7-2 decision during the 2013 season.
