RALEIGH, N.C. - The Shaw University men's tennis program will begin their 2018 season with a match against Barton College on Monday, Mar. 5 at Worthdale Park. First serve is slated for 2 p.m.
The Bears return one player from a season ago in junior Daniel Ac (Kikinda, Serbia). In addition, Shaw has five newcomers, including one true freshman and four transfers.
Shaw will look to get off to a great start this season after a falling short to reach the regional post-season play, finishing 5-8 overall during their 2017 campaign. The Bears are led by head coach Sunday Enitan in his 20th season at helm.
Barton, a member of the Conference Carolinas Conference (CCC) heads to Raleigh with a 0-4 record on the 2018 season. The Bulldogs suffered a 7-2 defeat by Francis Marion on Feb. 28. BC finished 15-9 overall last season and made it all the way to the NCAA Regional Tournament.
Today's meeting will be the first meeting between the two teams this season. Shaw and Barton met during last year and the Bulldogs earned a 7-2 win over the Bears in Wilson, N.C. on Mar. 5.
