RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University men's soccer team returns home off a three match road trip to face King (Tenn.) University Tuesday, Oct. 1. Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m. at the MAC. Live stats will be available via www.shawbears.com.
The Bears head into Tuesday's match 1-6 overall after dropping their sixth straight match on the road at Catawba this past Saturday. While on this streak, Shaw has been competitive with four of the six losses coming by two goals or less.
Freshman Brandon Linares (Kernersville, NC) leads the Bears offense so far with two goals and one assist totaling five points while junior Danny Cameron (Eedingburh, Scotland) follows with four points with two goals coming in Shaw's 5-3 loss at Catawba.
King (Tenn.) heads to Raleigh with a 1-4 record overall also dropping their most recent match 3-1 on the road at Carson-Newman. The Tornado's struck first and early in the first minute going ahead 1-0. Carson-Newman scored twice before the half and added another goal in the second half to produce the final 3-1 score.
This will be the second all time meeting between the Bears and Tornado's with the first resulting in a 1-1 double overtime tie on Sept.5, 2018 in Bristol, Tenn.
