RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University men's soccer team travels to Salisbury, NC to face the Catawba
College Indians Saturday, Sept. 28 for a 1 p.m. match at E.B. Frock Field.
Shaw (1-5) enters Saturday's contest coming off a 3-1 defeat at Lincoln Memorial Tuesday (Sept. 24). The Bears scored first breaking its three match scoreless streak leading 1-0 at the half but LMU converted on three straight goals to push the final score to 3-1.
Catawba's most recent match versus USC Aiken held on Wednesday (Sept. 25) resulted in a 5-3 victory for the Indians who now sit at 3-2 for the 2019 season. The Indians scored four straight goals after trailing 2-1 in the first half. USC Aiken tallied one goal late for the final 5-3 result.
Catawba leads the all-time series between the Bears and Indians with a 1-0 record with the only other meeting being a 3-0 victory for Catawba over Shaw in Salisbury on Oct. 6, 2018.
