RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University men's soccer team erased an almost 400 minute match time goalless streak scoring first against Lincoln Memorial University but the Bears needed more than one as LMU pulled away late for a 3-1 victory at the LMU Soccer Complex Tuesday afternoon in Harrogate, Tenn.

Shaw now sits at 1-5 overall. LMU evens its records to 2-2-2 on the season.

The streak finally came to an end when senior Paulo Filho (Johnston, IA) took an amazing cross from freshman Andrew Camilo-Tayaca (London, England) and found the back of the net in the 23' to give the Bears a 1-0 lead and its first goal since Sept. 11 vs Barton.

Shaw carried the 1-0 lead into the half before the LMU offense struck quickly after the break in the 46' tying the match at 1-1. The Rail Splitters then connected on two more goals in the 66' and 87' pushing the Bears final deficit to 3-1.

Shaw will look to return to the win column Saturday, Sept. 28 as the Bears travel to Salisbury, NC to face Catawba. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
