RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University men's soccer team will be looking to close out its opening home stretch on a positive note as the Bears host the Trojans from Mount Olive Wednesday, Sept. 18 at the MAC Sports & Entertainment (8924 Midway West Road, Raleigh, NC 27617). Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.

The Bears are coming off a disappointing 5-0 shutout defeat against Chowan on Sunday, Sept.15. Shaw found themselves chasing the Hawks and the lead early as Chowan poured on three quick goals during the first half before icing the contest late with two more after the half.

Shaw has now dropped two straight matches after their season opening OT victory over Bloomsburg back on Sept. 8.

Mount Olive also enters the match coming off a defeat as the Trojans dropped their season opener to Coker 4-1 on the road and sit with a 0-1 overall record. James Lang scored the lone goal for UMO, tying up the match early in the first half before Coker scored the remaining three goals for the 4-1 final score.

Shaw will be looking to avenge its lone loss to the Trojans in series history as Mount Olive scored a late goal in the 84th minute to come away with the 1-0 victory over the Bears during the 2017 season on Oct.2.
