RALEIGH, N.C. – The North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) announced its selections for the 2018 College Division All-State Men's Soccer Teams on Nov. 19. A total of 22 student-athletes from 11 different North Carolina schools were named to the first and second teams as senior forward Thilo Wilke (Karlstadt, Germany) of the Shaw University men's soccer team was chosen First Team NCCSIA All-State.
Nominations were submitted by North Carolina sports information professionals and voted on by NCCSIA members.
Wilke earned First Team honors after leading the Bears in scoring with 17 total goals (tied for 10th amongst DII) for 36 points, two winning goals and two assists. He registered a shooting percentage of .274 and .516 percent for shot on goals this season for a Shaw team that finished 7-8-1 overall in its second season as a NCAA DII independent member. Additionally, Wilke was selected First Team All-Atlantic Region back on Nov. 14.
Founded in 2002, the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) is comprised of sports information professionals from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions from the state of North Carolina. The purpose of the organization is to promote collegiate athletics at all schools. Membership is open to anyone affiliated with a college, university or conference located in North Carolina, and whose area of responsibility lies within sports information.
NCCSIA selects all-state teams in the University (Division I) and College (Division II, III, NAIA) divisions for men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball, softball and baseball.
