RALEIGH, N.C.   The Shaw University men's and women's soccer teams will be hosting Piedmont International University on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at the MAC Sports and Entertainment Complex at 8924 Midway West Road, Raleigh, N.C. 27617.

The women's team will start the doubleheader at 1 p.m., followed by the men's game at approximately 3 p.m.

 The Lady Bears are coming off a 3-0 decision at Division I South Carolina State last Saturday. Shaw is 10-4 overall and averages 3.23 goals per game on 17.2 shots per outing while having scored 42 goals on the season.

The Piedmont International women's squad is 4-10 entering Wednesday game; the Lady Bruins suffered a 5-0 defeat at Brevard on Monday.

Shaw and Piedmont International met earlier this season, with the Lady Bears winning 5-2 at Bermuda Run, N.C. In that contest, Shaw outshot the Lady Bruins 20-4 led by freshman Jasa Curry (Ellicott City, MD) who scored three goals in the win.

On the men's side, Shaw is 6-8-1 after capturing a 3-2 victory over Salem Monday for Senior Day. Senior Thilo Wilke (Karlstadt, Germany) scored the game winning goal at the 82nd minute. In 15 games played this season, the Bears have produced 2.80 goals per game on 15.2 shots per outing while scoring 42 goals on the year.

The Bruins men's squad is 4-9, coming off a 2-1 edge at Brevard on Oct. 27.

This will be the second meeting between the Bears and Bruins this season, both teams met on Oct. 8 as Shaw earned a 5-0 victory over PIU that featured SU holding a 26-3 ratio in shots as five different players scored a goal.
