MEN’S SOCCER HOSTS SALEM FOR SENIOR DAY

RALEIGH, N.C. Shaw University men's soccer team hosts Salem University for a regular season tilt on Monday, Oct. 29 at 1 p.m. The program will celebrate the senior class prior to kickoff at Durham County Memorial Stadium.

 

Durham County Memorial Stadium is located on 750 Stadium Drive, Durham, N.C., 27704.

 

This will be the first meeting in program history between Shaw and Salem.

 

Shaw is 5-8-1 overall coming into Monday's contest, the Bears were scheduled to play Wingate on Friday, Oct. 26 but it was cancelled due to inclement weather. As a team, Shaw has averaged 2.8 goals per game and taken 15.2 shots per outing in 14 games this season. Senior Thilo Wilke (Karlstadt, Germany) has led the Bears offensive attack with 14 goals and a shooting percentage of .259.

 

Salem enters the match with an 8-6-2 record. The Tigers are coming off a 2-1 victory at Bluefield College on Oct. 24 led by Nikklas Roessler who scored two goals on two shots. Bernardo Santos registered six saves at the goalkeeper position. Salem posts a 4-6-0 record on the road this year.

 

Shaw will honor three seniors in Wilke, Landon Jacobsen (Draper, UT) and Mohammad Boulfelfel (Tucson, AZ).
