MEN’S SOCCER FALLS ON THE ROAD AT LENOIR-RHYNE

HICKORY, N.C. The Shaw University men's soccer team suffered a 5-3 setback at Lenoir-Rhyne University (10-4) Wednesday night. The Bears (5-8-1) scored three straight goals in the second half, including two from junior Andre Matzuda (Gardena, CA) but it would not be enough to overcome the first half deficit.

Senior Thilo Wilke (Karlstadt, Germany) had eight shots, five on goal and one goal scored while Matzuda finished with two shots and two on goal. Junior Patrick Richter (Dusseldorf, Germany) finished with five saves.

Shaw will return to action on Oct. 26 at Wingate. Kickoff is slated for 6:30 p.m.
