RALEIGH, N.C. – Shaw University men's soccer will head to Hickory, N.C. to face Lenoir-Rhyne University Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 8:30 p.m. The match will mark the first ever meeting between the two programs.
Shaw has a 5-7-1 overall record entering tonight's match, the Bears defeated Mid-Atlantic Christian 15-1 in its last outing that featured 10 goals in the first half and five in the second. Senior Thilo Wilke (Karlstadt, Germany) recorded a program record, eight goals in the match on 13 shots while freshman Malte Ruether () registered three goals on five shots and four on goal.
As for Lenoir-Rhyne, the Bears are 9-4 entering tonight's game. LRU has won its last three games, including a 3-0 victory over Belmont Abbey on Oct. 20. Ignacio De goya finished with six shots, two on goal and one goal while Goncalo Garcia posted five on goal and score.
LRU is a member of the South Atlantic Conference (SAC).
Following tonight's game, the Bears have just three regular season contest left for 2018.
