BRENTWOOD, S.C. – Shaw University men's soccer suffered a 7-0 setback to the 16th-ranked Lander University squad by the score of 7-0 Thursday night at the Van Taylor Stadium. The loss dipped Shaw to 3-2-1 overall while the Bearcats improve to 5-0-0 on the year.
Lander led Shaw 2-0 at half before the Bears found themselves in a 7-0 deficit after the Bearcats tallied five goals in the second half. Four difference Lander players scored a goal led by Jamie North who finished with a game-high with three.
The Bears accounted for three shots while Lander produced 29 shots and 19 on goal.
Shaw will look to regroup with a home contest versus Coker on Tues. Sept. 25. Kickoff is slated for 6:30 p.m. at the MAC. The MAC is located on 8924 Midway West Road, Raleigh, NC 27617.
