RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University men's and women's soccer teams will visit Coker College on Saturday, Sept. 9 with the women's contest slated to kickoff at 12 noon, followed by the men's game at 2:30 p.m. at the Coker Athletic Field.

On the women's side, the Lady Bears (0-2-0) enter Saturday's game having lost to Barton on Wednesday night by the score of 3-0. Freshman Jacari Riggins (Miramar, FL) and freshman Leslie Mendoza (Miami Beach, FL) fired back-to-back open shots from close range but was unable to score.
The Cobras (0-1-1) are coming off a 0-0 draw with Converse on Sept. 6. Farrah Brown leads the team with three shot on goals total.
For the Bears, Shaw (0-0-1) will look to get their first win on the season at Coker after a draw 1-1 with Emmanuel (Ga.) on Sept. 1. Junior Thilo Wilke (Karlstadt, Germany) scored the program's first ever goal.
The Cobras welcome the Bears with a 0-1-1 record. Coker is coming off a 1-0 loss to Embry-Riddle Sept. 4. Jacob Simonis leads the team with two shots on the year.
Following Saturday's games, the Lady Bears will travel to Oakwood University for a regular season contest in Huntsville, Ala. on Sept. 15. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. while the Bears will head to Belmont Abbey on Sept. 13 at 2 p.m.
