RALEIGH, N.C. – Shaw University's junior Amir Hinton has earned National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II First Team All-American Team, announced Wednesday.
The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) standout who declared for the NBA draft last month posted the nation's highest scoring average (29.4 ppg) while leading DII in free throws made (321) and ranking second in total points (853).
The Philadelphia, Pa., native guided the Bears (17-13) to a runner-up finish in the 2019 CIAA Men's Basketball championship game and third consecutive division title where he was named the 2019 CIAA Player of the Year and All-Tournament Team recipient. Hinton continues to be recognized regionally and nationally as he captured BOXTOROW Player of the Year, NABC First Team All-American, and D2CCA First Team - First Team All-Atlantic Region.
