RALEIGH, N.C. – Shaw University men's basketball will square off with crosstown rival Saint Augustine's Saturday, Feb. 16 for a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division tilt at Emery Gymnasium. The game is slated to tipoff at 4 p.m.

Shaw (12-12, 7-8 CIAA) claimed its sixth division win with a 72-63 win over Winston-Salem State Wednesday. Junior Amir Hinton (Philadelphia, PA) scored a game-high 20 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals while junior Davon Dillard (Gary, IN) hauled in 17 points and 11 rebounds – his third double-double of the season. Junior DaVaughn Kelsie (Richmond, VA) finished with 14 points on 4-of-10 shooting from the 3-point line. The victory put Shaw 6-3 in the South – good for second place behind Livingstone.

The Falcons (8-15, 5-10 CIAA) are coming off a four-game road slate where SAU registered 2-2 mark that featured a 68-51 win at Winston-Salem State last weekend led behind Tyre Gathright's 32 points. The Falcons currently sit fifth in the Southern Division race with a 3-6 record.

The last time Shaw and Saint Augustine's met was on Jan. 26 where the Falcons hit 12-of-21 3-pointers to come away with a 76-74 win in Spaulding. Top scorers for the game included Hinton with a game-high 23 points while Gathright scored 20 points for SAU.

Hinton is the nation and CIAA's leading scorer (31.0 ppg) while Gathright is third in the league at 19.8 points. As a team, the Bears average 82.8 points per game (1st in CIAA) while the Falcons are 13th in the league as far as scoring with 66.7 points per outing.
