RALEIGH, N.C. – Coming off a tough road win Wednesday night, the Shaw University men's basketball team will go head-to-head with rival Saint Augustine's University on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 4 p.m. in C.C. Spaulding Gymnasium for another tough Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division clash. The game is expected to be a sold out event, therefore spectators are asked to arrive early. Doors will open at 3 p.m.

Game day tickets are not sold in advance. Admission is $10, non-Shaw students with school ID is $7 and all currently enrolled Shaw students is free.

The game will be air live on the Shaw Bears Sports Network with Donal Ware and Daimeon Banks calling the live action. Live stats will also be offered and fans can follow live tweets on Twitter @ShawBears.

Saturday's game will be the first meeting between Shaw and Saint Augustine's this season. The Bears swept the Falcons last year, including a 55-52 win in Spaulding on Feb. 17, 2018.

Riding a three-game win-streak, the Bears (8-9, 3-5 CIAA) are 2-1 against Division opponents thus far. Shaw defeated Winston-Salem State in its last outing, 73-69 in front of a very hostile Rams crowd. Junior Amir Hinton (Philadelphia, PA) led the way with 31 points while junior Derrich Randolph (Chicago, IL) and Davon Dillard (Gary, NC) finished with 15 and 10 points, respectively.

Meanwhile, SAU (5-12, 2-7 CIAA) is coming off a 76-62 win over Johnson C. Smith Wednesday in Raleigh. Tyre Gathright had a game-high 25 points and five rebounds while Jalen Gaddy and Hirk Williams contributed 22 and 10 points, respectively.

The Falcons average 65.4 points while shooting 66-percent from the field as the Bears posts the conferences second-best scoring average at 81.3 points on 47-percent shooting. Defensively both teams grab at least 30 rebounds per outing – Shaw (33.8) and Saint Augustine (31.6).
